If you are wondering who and what is Hamoye, well continue reading.

who is Hamoye?

Hamoye is an ed tech and talent development company with operations in the US, Bermuda and Nigeria.

Hamoye’s mission?

Hamoye’s primary mission is to transform learning and talent development across Africa.

how does Hamoye operate?

Our business model is based on training, talent discovery and talent placement. Our social Learning Management Platform is designed to facilitate both virtual and blended learning.

what happens during the internship?

Hamoye’s internship is a multi-stage, competitive internship and training process. each stage comes with an excitement from interns to compete for various positions such as best overall, best female, most supportive intern. and as a non paid internship, these awards are monetary i.e you get to earn cash by being one of the top.

we actually get to vote for the most supportive intern and its like a campaign in our slack channel, but we always vote for who assisted us more.

Stage A(2 weeks): there are three different learning/internship path; the data science track, data engineering track and the data story telling track. all tracks participated here.

we were introduced to python for machine learning, we basically ‘wrangled data’, explored the data . click here to go my github link.

there was a cut off of 75 marks out of 100 to get to stage B, but we all scaled through, yeah they let all of us go.😁

did i forget to mention that this internship is open worldwide😎, we had people from various countries participating, countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, India and so many others. the slack channel was fun🥳🥳🥳.

every Saturday we had a webinar from someone with so much insight in data science. you can subscribe to their YouTube channel to watch all webinars here

stage B(2 weeks): all tracks followed through again🤗🤗🤗, we were now in Machine Learning. Regression in Machine Learning. this was when i realized that this was real, my first intro to machine learning, i read all through the night,(most nights🥱). i don’t want to go into details of what we learnt,3

so that i don’t take up much of your time. you can check out my git hub page here.

we assumed they would cut some off after stage B, but then again the final miracle.

we got a mail stating that we will all be allowed to finish the internship for learning purposes, but our effort will be accumulated to get the best for the jobs available. not in those words exactly, i guess i can read meaning to mails these days. But we were all allowed access to the community till December💃💃💃.

stage c(3 weeks): this stage we all went our separate ways, i chose the data science track.

classification in Machine Learning began, this was a tough one, it was robust, really robust, my score in the quiz was shocking, i was not expecting such great score. my datasets was not complete as i struggled to grasp this part, but you can still check it out on my github

this is where i am now, we will begin stage d which is ‘Neural Nets, Image Recognition & Object Detection’. wish me luck as i joggle getting a degree and this internship.

UPDATE STILL COMING THROUGH AFTER EACH STAGE STAY TUNED.
